Acknowledge and accept the full authority of Gods word over your life
Acknowledge the full authority of the Bible as Gods word to you
The Bible will no longer be an academic exercise but will become a process of discovering God’s thoughts from His perspective.
The Bible now becomes the voice of God imprinted on its pages.
1 Thessalonians 2:13
When you identify the author of the Word (God) the authority of the word comes to life.
The Bible is just mere words when you are separated from the author and you are not able to distinguish the consequences of your behavior.
“All scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work”2 Timothy 3:16
And because the Word of God is pure, it also produces life in the heart of the one who is open to receive the Word. The author of the Word of God is the AUTHOR OF LIFE (Acts 3:15), the Word of God carries a LIFE – GENERATING authority.
Ask God for exposure to His truth, through His Word, that will actually pierce you by the truths, principles, and meanings of the Christian faith.
The important thing to realize about your relationship with God’s Word is that simply ACKNOWLEDGING the authority of the Bible is NOT enough. You must submit to the process of God’s Word.
“So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls. But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.”
Choose your route: are you a studier or a student?
Studier – studies the Bible for more information.
Student – desires to become like his teacher
You cannot TRULY study the Word without being transformed in the process. You must have a sincere heart.
The Bible is an eternal yardstick, defining your life from God’s perspective, acting as an absolute reference point which brings your life into accountability before God.
